What are the healing arts of Walela?
Thai Yoga Also called “lazy man’s yoga” or Nuad Boran (Thai for “sacred touch”)- Almost a dance between practitioner and recipient, it utilizes palming, thumb-walking and stretching energy lines on the body, as well as moving the recipient into assisted yoga poses. Promoting pain relief, flexibility, deep relaxation, and the movement of energy in the body/mind.

Jin Shin Acupressure-Involves the application of finger pressure to energy points and lines. A technique similar to acupuncture, but without the use of needles. Promotes a meditative state in which the body/mind can rest and heal.

Integrative massage- A sort of catch-all term used by massage therapists to explain a massage that incorporates several techniques, i.e., deep tissue, Swedish, acupressure, Thai, reiki, aromatherapy, to name a few. In short, the massage is designed to elicit the greatest benefit for the client.

Raindrop Therapy- A technique developed by Gary Young of Young Living Oils. It utilizes the application of essential oils directly to points on the feet and spinal column, which are then massaged into the skin with numerous techniques. Promotes relaxation, emotional balancing, and energy shifts as the oils penetrate the skin and enter the bloodstream.

Vibrational Healing, Focusing, Emotional Release and Balancing- A session which is used primarily to deal with “soul work”, patterns which one cannot seem to break, karmic patterns, deep emotional work or trauma, i.e., grief work. May involve the use of flower essences, astrology, gemstone and crystal healing.

Reiki is a Japanese word meaning “universal life force energy.” It is a simple system of vibrational healing that consists of “laying on of hands.” It is based on the principle that health of all levels is maintained by the free flow of energy. When energy is blocked, mental, emotional and physical imbalances are created. Reiki can be defined as spiritually guided life force energy. The Reiki healer is a conduit through which the energy flows into the person receiving the healing. The Reiki healer is, in effect, giving the recipient permission to heal themselves. A Reiki healing is a gentle, non-invasive and loving connection to all life.
